Dear ones in the love of our Lady of the Miraculous Medal:

            Although the letter of Father General calling us to celebrate the 350^th Anniversary of the Death and Resurrection of Saint Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac absolutely doesn’t need any further introduction, I do wish at this time to send you my greetings, inviting you to take on the joy and gratitude which this occasion offers us, to center more upon what fills our life, and, above all, by the invitation made to us to enter into an ever more profound knowledge of the charism of the two great Founders, and through the celebration of its memorial, we might enter  more and more into the authentic Charity and Mission which they lived in the joyful following of the Lord Jesus.

            Understanding that the letter is a challenge to us all, as we are very much in the Vincentian Family, and also in our branch of the AMM, there is also much we can do to eradicate the poverty of our world and to spread the saving message of the Gospel.

            I am convinced that we will accept this call with great kindness in the spirit that Father General offers it to us, thanking him for it and putting ourselves, as before, in the service of this task.

            With this letter we adjoin a file of “guidelines” for working with the letter of Father General, prepared by the Subdirector General of the AMM, which might be useful to you.

            Although we are celebrating our Jubilee Year of the AMM, preparing intensely for the Encounter which we will have in Paris in November 2009, so much of the content of the letter of the Superior General as our November Encounter, it is certain that it will continue to be a topic of prayer before the Lord for all the groups and members of the AMM.
