I-ORIGIN
1. Origin of the Association
The Association of the Miraculous Medal is a living and constant reminder of the apparitions of the Immaculate Virgin Mary in 1830. In this apparition the Virgin gave a model of the medal which after being made spread quickly throughout the world. It was called “miraculous” by the people due to the many favors which God daily granted by means of it. The Association arose to spread the message of the Medal, as a catequesis of Salvation History, offered by the Virgin Mary, for those who have a simple heart.
2. Pontifical Approval
The Association of the Sacred Medal of the Immaculate Conception has been approved and recognized by the whole church, with its own Purposes and Statutes, by the Brief, Dilectus Dei Filius, of Pius X of 8 July 1909. The Statutes have been revised and approved anew by the Congregation of Institutes of Consecrated life and Societies of Apostolic Life 19 February 1998 (Prot N.P. 53-1989). The approval of 1909 bound the Association to the Direction of the Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission and the Daughters of Charity.

III-THE END AND MEANS
8. The Association has as its purpose:
9. Means
IV. SPIRITUAL LIFE
10. The members of the Association have an awareness of an interior and communal life solidly constructed and lived, that gives strength and value to the witness that the Association proposes to live according to its ends. Besides including to live a Christian life, taken up with depth and joy, the Association tries to express itself in some virtues that arise from it own character:
11.—(PRAYING AND CONTEMPLATING) PRAYER AND CONTEMPLATION. Invited by Mary (Come to the foot of the altar…” “O Mary…pray…who have recourse…”) the members of the Association are devoted to an encounter with God in prayer and contemplation, as personal as it is communal. The strength of this practice sustains the whole Association and prepares it to leave the encounter as evangelizer of other human beings.
This assumes: keeping personally and communally the practice of prayer and contemplation.
12.—(BROTHERLY LOVE) COMMUNION in the encounter of evangelical Love, as work and joy, after the example of Mary, meeting in the Cenacle with the newborn Church. This enlivens the church, unites it, invites it to celebrate it in the liturgy and encounters, and binds it to the Church as well.
This assumes: The search for a way of personal and communal life in Charity which is meaningful to the world (Jn. 13: 35; Acts 2: 42-47; 4: 32-35). This Communion is expressed, because of its ecclesial character, in its being in tune with the Church and participating in a committed manner in its life and ministries.
13.—(EVANGELIZING) EVANGELIZATION: Bringing Life to the brothers, after the example of Mary, in the mystery of the Visitation, recognizing the wonders of the Lord and singing his praise because “he raises the lowly from the dust”.
This assumes: Trying to live in the spirit of Mary of Nazareth, towards God and towards our brothers and sisters, in order to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ, especially to families.
14.—(SERVING) SERVICE: SERVING CHRIST IN THE POOR, staying together with them, like Mary in the house of Elizabeth, and in the characteristic style of the Vincentian vocation.
This assumes: Living the contemplative Vincentian spirit which urges us to express charity and bring about justice, physically and spiritually, in the service of Jesus Christ in the Poor.
The spiritual life informs all the EXPRESSIONS OF THE LIFE of the Association, concretized in: -Reflection and prayer -Celebration and encounter -Service to brothers and sisters who need us.
The Association promotes this spiritual life by its own WAY OF LIFE , a text which serves as an inspiration or rule of life for the whole AMM, and which it considers as one of the fundamental means for living its ends in simplicity.
